Description
“Petruna in Anfora” is one of the more unique wines produced on the Il Borro Estate, made with 100% Sangiovese grapes by exclusively using terracotta amphoras, an ancient winemaking technique.
The “Petruna in Anfora” is obtained by vinifying 100% Sangiovese grapes and using exclusively terracotta amphorae. In the glass the wine has a ruby red colour. The nose is complex, with notes of ripe red fruit and aromas deriving from the aging in amphorae. The flavor is decisive with balanced tannins and good acidity.
Petruna in Anfora goes perfectly with traditional Tuscan meat dishes, but is also excellent with bread or legume soups. It can be served to accompany seasoned and blue cheeses.
