Description
The Chenin Blanc is machine harvested in the cool of the night using the selective harvester. All of the fruit is estate grown, following strict organic principles on the vineyard. This means that no artificial chemical pesticides or fertilisers are used and we believe this allows our wines to taste even better. The 2020 vintage was spectacular, especially for our whites. The fruit is delivered to the vineyard in picking bins. Each bin is examined and then fed into the crusher. A yeast is added and the Chenin Blanc proceeds fermenting in the tank. After the fermentation, the wine is immediately prepared for bottling. Small levels of sulphur and minimal fining agents are added prior to bottling.
The Silverleaf Chenin Blanc offers intense tropical fruit aromas on the nose, with passion fruit, pineapple, lime and subtle notes of orange blossom, lemon sorbet and jasmine. Pale straw. A vibrant, very pronounced fruity fresh bouquet with a mix of tropical fruit aromas, with pineapple and passion fruit notes. A light, refreshing and crisp summer wine. Bursting with fresh tropical fruits and well-balanced with zingy acidity. This combination leaves a fruity and very clean finish.
