Description
Brand Info In 1986, Geoff Hardy finally found the ideal location forproducing cool climate award-winning wines in the Adelaide Hills.
This vineyard later became known as the K1 by Geoff Hardy vineyardsince this unique site was the first commercial planting of vines in theKuitpo region.
Story One of the more intriguing wines created in biblical times wasthe ‘Tzimmukin’, using slightly dried grapes to increase strength and
longevity. At K1 we have captured the essence of this ancienttechnique by slowly air drying our best parcels of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon in baskets to produce a quintessential Australian blend.
Vintage The 2016 vintage was in general very mild with low rainfall. Thelack of rain looked like it would result in a quick harvest, but a big
downpour in early February made sure the vintage was more evenly spread out. The yields were up on the couple of previous years and thequality is looking great.
