On the borders of New Zealand, in the prestigious region of Marlborough, only 4 hectares of the Rimapere vineyard are planted with Pinot Noir on stony soil and benefiting from a cool climate conducive to the expression of this grape variety. The 2020 vintage Rimapere Pinot noir expresses a beautiful aromatic complexity with aromas of black cherry, spices as well as a slight note of dried thorns. Rimapere Pinot Noir comes from a single vineyard ideally situated on the prestigious Rapaura Road, in the Wairau Valley, in the heart of the Marlborough region. This area’s cool climate and stony soil are perfect for ripening high-quality Pinot Noir. The name Rimapere, meaning “five arrows » in the Maori language, pays a dual tribute to the Rothschild family’s emblem and the traditional local culture.
TASTING NOTES
Vibrant ruby red with black cherry hues. Complex with aromas of ripe red fruits and black cherry, spices and a hint of dried pine needles. An attractive core of red fruits is complemented by well integrated and elegant oaky notes, creating a lovely and persistent structure. Ideal with a white meat as veal or poultry in sauce (morels, truffles).
